haven’t seen book cover yet. will comment when i do.
Just heard from a friend that the women in their late 50’s/early 60’s are falling all over Comrade Kerry. It’s a bit frightening, since that’s what got us 8 long years of Presidents Bubba and Bubbette!
SEE THE COVER OF -THE NEW SOLDIER- AND MORE
E>B. I don’t know if this will work or not, but if you want to see the cover with Kerry click on the info at the top of this page.
I’m a 68 year old veteran and would like to know what year Kerry wrote “The New Soldier”?
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

I live in Harlingen, TX, home of the original model for the Iwo Jima memorial. I feel a great sense of pride every time I pass it.
The cover of John Kerry’s book defiles that memorial and all it stands for.
“The New Soldier” was written by John Kerry in 1971. It was edited by David Thorne, (ex-brother in law) and George Butler. I checked it out of a library, read it entirely and found it to be very informative, shows many pictures of the Dewey Canyon III, as the VVAW descend on Washingtion DC in April 1971. Describes all the emotions, atrocities and efectively questions the policies of the Nixon Administration over the reasons of continued involvement in IndoChina occupation. John Kerry;s speech before the Senate Foreign Relation Committee is included.
It documents so many personal and individual accounts of Vietnam, and the atrocities committed by the US, which reflect the horror of what went on in Vietnam.
Also, very poignant and emotional at the end of the book, when they threw their medals over the makshift fence, many of the veterans recall crying uncontrollably for two hours.
It gave a very powerful perspective from the very men who fought this war, and their non-acceptence in their return to the US, the very country they were fighting for, and the Nixon;s administration unwillingness to accept them and in fact tryed to character assassinate all the Vets, saying he doubted most of them were actual veterans.
The people of Massachusetts sure know how to pick’em!First,Ted”Chappaquiddic”Kennedy and now John”old purple heart/blood and guts”Kerry! You could put their smarts together and couldn’t load a bb gun with the resulting mass! I’ve been wondering who Kerry reminds me of an now I know. Frank burns on the M*A*S*H T.V. show. Old blood and guts! Anyone who would put in for a purple heart for a scratch on the skin is spineless! I guess a hemmorahoid would be grounds for a purple heart since it is a type of battle of the bulge! But john didn’t think of that or he’d have four purple hearts! But then again he “IS” a hemmorahoid! A real pain in the Keester!!
What is wrong with Massachusetts, one of our great founding colonies, who stood for all the things deemed important in our lives, but now—-a elected homosexual in congress, a senator who got away with murder, same sex marriage, now running a TRAITOR to our nation for president, is this the route america is taking???
Enough is enough! John Wayne Kerry does not represent the majority of Vietnam veterans. In Vietnam the thing which was at the top of the dung
heap of our disdain were politicians. After all it was politicians who really sent us there and it
was politicians who lost heart to bring us back
with the job uncompleted. Kerry speaks from both
sides of his mouth and is the consumate tap dancer. Try, just try to pin him down to specifics
as to his solutions for the countries perceived
problems. Remember however that Kerry was taught
the “dance” by a certain Mr. Kennedy who has been
dancing all his bloated life. And just who am I to
be on this soap box? Would three real tours in that hellhole qualify me? Kerry’s tale of the
“Search and destroy” missions (I have it on tape)
where atrocities were committed are lies. The Navy
did not engage in that activity in Vietnam. Also
why did Kerry leave command of his boat to administer the coup de gras to an allready dead
enemy soldier…..to inflate his medal count and
therefore build another stepping stone to his
ultimate goal of becoming the next JFK.
