I actually do trust the election process in Georgia, having been both an elections lawyer in the system and knowing a lot of the good and professional people involved. I think there will be evidence found of some fraud, but not enough to overturn the election.

But for those keeping score at home, we’ve now got two counties where over 5000 votes not previously counted were found. One of those counties, Floyd, has provided good explanations for their oversight. I am awaiting the reasoning in Fayette County.

The net gain in each benefited President Trump, but not enough to overcome Joe Biden’s margin. Another county has two hundred or so outstanding votes. The numbers will also not help David Perdue escape a runoff.

I do not attribute to malice and fraud what can be attributed to incompetence. People truly need to be fired. Investigations need to be conducted. There are not enough votes out to shift the margin of victory. The hand recount aligns with the machines.

But people need to be fired.

No election is ever perfect. People emotionally invested in elections want perfection. There’ll never be perfection as long as humans are involved and those humans, mostly senior citizens, are interacting with complex machines.

But two weeks from the election we should not still be finding votes. Again, this is not a sign of fraud. This is a sign of incompetence in several counties and heads need to roll.
