“Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.”
Habakkuk 2:4 (ESV)
Many Christians worry about the future. Worry, our Lord Jesus tells us, is a sin. We are to live by faith.
We can certainly feel the ground shift under us. We can certainly have a growing sense of living in exile. We can recognize that the world moves more and more toward the pagan and gnostic.
But we should live by faith.
Living by faith means we trust in the Lord. Living by faith means we live according to our faith and the values we derive from our faith.
Living by faith means we show Biblical love and love our neighbors even when they do not love us. Living by faith and not by the latest trend, fashion, or craze makes the faithful stand out even more. We are to be a light in the world. We know the confusion of the present age will set in and living by faith we should draw others to us by our smile, our compassion, and our fearlessness.
We believe in eternity. We believe in the coming again of our Lord Jesus. We know victory is already ours. So we should smile, be kind, share the gospel, and live by faith.
