15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
2 Cor. 3:15-17
People talk a lot about freedom, but what is freedom when we are slaves to sin? We follow our lusts and desires. We are slaves to them. The passions in our bodies direct us here and there. We become impulsive. We look to the immediate.
Look instead to the Lord. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Christ gives us liberty. He unshackles us from our lusts and desires. He frees us to pursue our highest and best purposes. He provides us the comfort that we will not fail because he does not fail and is working through us.
Instead of continuing to search for something to quell the passions of your flesh and desires of your soul, embrace Jesus. He is the only one who can calm the search that leaves you tired and looking and longing. He frees you.
