The truly brilliant Stephen Hawking has announced to a Berkeley Physics Oppenheimer Lecture that he believes “the universe spontaneously popped into existence from nothing.”*

This, of course, is something Jews and those who derive their faith from Judaism have known for about 6,000 years.

*The quote is a quote from the link, not the actual words Hawking used.

  • Hahahahaha. That’s great!

But, you know, on this you are right:

he is probably smarter than the smartest 3 people either of us knows put together.

The man is freakin’ brilliant. A rock star. It’s so sad to see him whither away, but inspiring to see him continue on doggedly in search of answers.

  • It’s notable because of Hawking’s body of work, the position he holds, and the fact that he is probably smarter than the smartest 3 people either of us knows put together.

And it’s interesting you immediately dragged mythology into this.
