Interesting aspect about Lebanon: The Lebanon Constitution dictates that the President is to be a Christian; the Prime Minister is to be a Sunni Muslim; and the Parliamentary Speaker is to be a Shia Muslim.

We are going to have to accept the fact that Muslims are a BIG part of this world, as there are over a billion Muslims.

Because of the world demand for oil, we have stirred up a hornet’s nest in the Middle East. It is looking more and more like what is written in Revelations when we see the burning in California; the scorching temperatures here in the United States; false religious leaders rising to power in the United States and throughout the world; a return to the sins of sexual perversion; and of course bombs and blood shed in Israel and the surrounding countries. I don’t know how the rest of you feel, but I sure do think that we need for Jesus to return soon.

  • Dear Maggie,

That day is on the horizon in the United States when Christians will worship in hiding.

  • Linda, at one time 70% of Lebanese were Christians. It was the only Christian country in the Middle East. As their numbers reduce so do their freedoms and rights. They are increasingly being subjected to Muslim rule.

Whether their numbers continue to decline from those seeking exile in other countries or the imbalance in birth rates, there will be a time when the Christian population is down in the single digits and they worship in hiding.

  • I thought about the last post that I made, and wanted to add that it is just not innocent Christians that I do not want to see killed. I hate to see any innocent person killed that is caught in the middle of wars.

  • Many people do not even know that 30% of the population of Lebanon are Christians. That is nearly 1 out of 3 people that are Christians just like us. So statistically 1 out of 3 people killed in this war could very well be Christians. In addition, there are a number of Christians that can freely practice Christianity in Syria. Just another point to make some people realize the reality of this situation.

  • In the near future God will put Israel through a very troublesome period of time known as the “great tribulation” (Mat. 24:21), but Christians will not have to endure the Tribulation. Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 1:10 that the Church is waiting for the Lord from Heaven, not for the Great Tribulation, because He has delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 says that God has not appointed us (Christians) to wrath, but to obtain salvation through Christ. Those who have been “born again” (John 3:3) will soon be “caught up” to Heaven without dying. Notice what the word of God says:

    We cannot stop God’s will.

  • I am very worried about the Americans trapped in Lebanon, and the 2200 Marines in Lebanon. I hate to see this blood shed, and worry about the soldiers in Iraq, too. We have way too much hatred in this World, and I do not think this is what the Lord wants to see at all.

  • Has not this new war or, increased war from a different perspective, placed our troops in Iraq in a more precarious situation, or does it, i.e., the war in Lebanon, draw insurgents who ordinarily would be hitting our troops in Iraq, to the front in Lebanon and wherever the war goes? Yet the USA and I suppose our troops are being pounded by “hate the USA/America” demonstrations in Iraq, at least according to some media reports. I wondered if the war with Israel was a set up by Iran via help from Hesbollah to draw Israel’s attention from Iran’s on-going nuclear game, i.e., their development of nuclear weapons or other dastardly weapons. Israel, I am sure, is on to them and their evil pursuits, their demon-led jehad. Our air power could and most like would help Israel take them out sooner than later. And according to the Scriptures those who curse Israel will be cursed, and that includes one could think, the “new Israel”, followers of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Light, King of kings and Lord of lords, i.e, true Christians everywhere.
