Big Daddy, Junior, and the Spook

Reaching its logical ends, we could take this to that end.

The divine Trinity — “Father, Son and Holy Spirit” — could also be known as “Mother, Child and Womb” or “Rock, Redeemer, Friend” at some Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) services under an action Monday by the church’s national assembly.

It is a wonder that the “progressive” churches are dwindling. Abandoning first principles in an age when church leaders and others are willing to accept “if it feels good, do it” relativism does not hep attract the lost desiring to be found.

  • It’s the old rule of warfare: divide and conguer. The Baptists are somewhat divided on the alcohol rule, some knowing that the wine of the Bible is with alcohol content. After all, the “best wine” was saved until last, possibly another significant fact about the miracle, in that “the best wine” can require a quite lengthy aging process. Perhaps Baptist teetotallers are concerned about those who would be abusive. In today’s world of so much drug and alcohol use, those concerned should work on the cause of over use and abuse, i.e., lack of fear of the Almighty. Too many pastors I think are afraid to preach in the old mode of the pioneer hellfire and brimstone preachers. There is so much love, love, love preached to tickle everyones ears and an I’m okay, you’re okay mentality, few hear that we will all have to give an account of ourselves (with Christ as our mediator/lawyer for the defense, God will see only His righteouness, not the “filthy rags” of our “good deeds”) and that there are dark angels and a real place of eternal, continous death in the fires of a real Hell. Earth seems a Hell to many unfortunates, I suppose, but what some must endure on this earth is no comparison to biblical Hell according to the Scriptures. The slight depiction of hell’s servants carrying off the bad guys in Ghost, the movie, except for the fictional format, should have given pause for thought, but as with the children of Israel, only a momentary fear and acknowledgment of the wrath of God’s judgement. We live in a world in which the Bible bookstores in which I have shopped have those angel figurines, book marks, storybooks, etc. in which angels have mammory glands! At least that’s one thing that the Mormons have got right, i.e., in their books in which artists have depicted angels, the angels look quite strong and manly.

  • The infiltration of liberals into the hieracy of most Protestant churchs began many decades ago. Over the years their stranglehold has intensified and their positions keep moving further left.

If I were Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson, I might be tempted to blame the “Devil” for a shrewd plan to destroy the church from within.

As one who does not believe in organized religion but who has a deep and abiding faith in the Lord, I might be inclined to agree with that statement.

First pedophiles in the Catholic Church; then gays and lesbians in the Episcopal; and now feminist nuts in the PCA. All wanting to change the “rules”.

Destruction from within. It’s a scarry thought.

  • Jawan: you don’t need to worry about the PCA doing something like that. I was out having beers with about 20 PCA pastors and their wives, in town for the General Assembly. 🙂

  • Take a look at my most recent post: The Episcopal Convention held in Ohio has declared the Bible to be Anti-Jewish! And people think that I am an alarmist.
