Tonight’s Debate

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. The townhall forum is a way for Bush to shine, and shine he must. The battleground polls have finally caught up to the national polls and the outlook is good for Kerry.

The problem for Bush is simple. He must do so well that the media is willing to say it. The media is out to get Bush and, given the opportunity, they will sink him.

  • I think it was a mistake for Bush’s handlers to keep him in a bubble all summer among only friendly audiences. Kerry got practice sparring with hecklers at many of his events throughout the summer. It ought to be interesting.
