Great Line

G

From Jim Geraghty

My initial conclusion: The single most devastating drubbing since Lloyd Bentsen smacked Dan Quayle all around the stage in 1988.

  • You’re kidding, right?

Cheney looked like a scared middle-schooler before his first History class debate on
    Seat-Bealt Laws: Pro or Con?

  • Cheney spanked Edwards like a wayward kid. There are so many cliches that could be used….taken Edwards to the woodshed, wiped the floor with Edwards, handed Edwards his own butt, etc.

It was clear that Cheney put the brakes on any momentum that Kerry might have picked up last week. The choice of Edwards is a nightmare that is only coming to light.

  • I was watching the debate where John Edwards stuttered his way through the DNC talking points and never answered a question with a straight answer. I was watching the debate where Edwards’ and Kerry’s senate records were exposed and trashed. I watched the debate where the stretcher came out and picked up the bloodied and battered body of John Edwards after the beating he got tonight.

Take off the DNC issued rose colored glasses and see the real world. Edwards got his butt handed to him tonight and no amount of slighted insults will change the results.

  • Andrew –

Kudos to you for beginning the (hopefully) lidfelong process of paying attention to the activities of your government.

Shame on you for listening to the party line your parents have (I assume) been feeding you for your 13 years (If you really are only 13, then Big Kudos!).

What you want to focus on in politics, as with most things in life, are the facts. Talking points are often repeated but that is not the qualifications for “fact”.

  • Kindly stop condescending and think. My parents are far more liberal than I, I hate most Democrats and it took me a month of hard thought until I begrudgingly endorsed Kerry – but no. You had to take a jab at me because of my age without doing your research.

    Typical conservative?
    No. Typical adult.

  • Funny, I thought my post would be seen as complimentary rather than “jabbing”.
Maybe it was the way I was typing….

“If you really are 13” was genuine since I find it hard to believe a 13-year-old can be this into politics. On the other hand, I hear about adults falsifying their identities while online, although the venue is decidedly not political in those reports, so I continue to think I have a reason to doubt your header.
But if it is true, then you’ll recall that I offered you a “Big Kudos”, in no ones world is that a jab.

SO relax and learn how to say thank you. The chip-on-the-shoulder is out of fashion these days.
