More on the Girl

Hat tip to John Kim for this one. Whether legit or not, it wasn’t the girl’s fault that her dad took her to the Edwards rally and the President showed his usual compassion.

If the picture of little 3-year-old Sophia Parlock crying after some Kerry-Edwards supporters tore up her Bush-Cheney poster got to you, well, you weren’t the only one. President Bush and even first pup Barney were dismayed too, we hear. It happened at a West Virginia rally last week for Democratic running mate Sen. John Edwards, to which Phil Parlock brought his daughter. After seeing the picture of the tearful Sophia on her dad’s shoulders, aides said the president was sending her a little note Friday along with a signed campaign poster and an autographed photo of the prez and his dog.

  • Come now, “his usual compassion”? You know as well as I do that ANY CANDIDATE would do that if in Bush’s place.

If Republicans mobbed a girl, (which the Dems DIDN’T, and it appears that the family goes election year-to-election year looking for scandals) Kerry would have it in the mail as well.

  • Quinn-

What do you expect to find on a blog called “Confessions of a Political Junkie”?

Of course it’s politics. What would we have to naval-gaze at if he actually meant it? This is all a Carl Rove plot to make Bush look like he is human and actually has feelings.

On second thought, this has all the trappings of a Zionist plot….

  • Of course, if it really was politics…and any candidate would have done the same thing, than John Kerry must have a sign on the way to her too, right? Um, wait…he doesn’t.

  • He would if Republicans were being made out as “the villians” in this story. Goes further to prove my point that they don’t really care, just want to pounce on the “The Other Party is Evil” bandwagon.
